Bulk-Fill Direct Restorative Materials: An In Vitro Assessment of Their Physio-Mechanical Properties

نویسندگان

چکیده

Bulk-fill restorative material has gained popularity in clinical practice, due to their perceived timesaving aspect. Objective was compare the properties of bulk-fill direct materials. Filtek Z350 (CR), One Bulk Fill Restorative (BF), Fuji IX and EQUIA Forte (EF) were compared. Thirty specimens from each prepared according ISO 4049 for three-point flexural strength. Elastic moduli hardness (n = 20) evaluated using nanoindentation. Depth cure (DC) measured BF at three different depths (2, 3, 4 mm) two irradiation times (20 40 s). Wear testing carried out periods (3, 6, 12 month(s)). All stored 37 °C water 24 h prior testing. Results one-way ANOVA followed by a post hoc Bonferroni test (p < 0.05). CR showed significantly higher strength than other groups 0.05), highest Weibull modulus found CR. sufficient DC with least 85%, all thicknesses. also had high level translucency EF IX. Significant differences among materials except between EF. While tested are suitable use clinically, have superior GIC based bulk-fill.

Properties of dual-cure, bulk-fill composite resin restorative materials.

The purpose of this study was to compare the properties of 2 new dual-cure, bulk-fill restorative composite resins to those of a hybrid composite resin material. Depth of cure, fracture toughness, porosity, microleakage, and volumetric shrinkage properties were examined. With the exception of fracture toughness, significant differences were found among materials. Compared to the incrementally p...

Structural and mechanical properties of a giomer-based bulk fill restorative in different curing conditions

The main goal of this study was to compare the polymerization degree of bulk-fill giomer resin cured with three different light-curing units (LCUs): a polywave third-generation (Valo); a monowave (DemiUltra: DU); and a second-generation LED (Optima 10: Opt) LCUs by using structural and mechanical properties. Giomer samples of 2 and 4 mm cured with three LCUs were employed in vitro analysis. The...

Optical properties of direct restorative materials.

The contrast ratio, light reflectivity, scattering coefficient, and absorption coefficient of four composites and an unfilled resin were calculated algebraically from reflection spectrophotometric data using Kubelka's equations. The correlation coefficient between calculated and experimental values of contrast ratio was 0.9996. Values of infinite optical thickness ranged from 4.19 to 6.70 mm.

Bulk Fill Composite Resins . A Novelty in Resin - Based Restorative Materials

Composites resins are the most popular restorative materials providing very good esthetics and long period of good clinical performance. Depth of cure of composite resins is crucial in determining the maximal increment thickness when restoring tooth cavities. In restorations with conventional composite resins the thickness of each increment has been defined as up to 2 mm. Bulk fill composite re...
